Filter cartridges for phosphate and algae removal

EHEIM phosphateout foam cartridges are impregnated with an iron compound for chemical filtration. The iron binds the phosphate, removes it from the water circulation and the growth of algae in the  aquarium. The cartridges are only intended for a single use. If the phosphate levels in the aquarium start to rise again, then the cartridge is depleted and must be replaced.
